Welcome to the 2012 elect
Brian Simpson for State House District 46 website.
Because of the support from so many of you throughout the District who have asked me to run for this seat once again in 2012, I am happy to announce that I have made the decision to do so.
During the 2010 election we were rewarded for our hard work in November as we garnered 45% of the vote in a mostly Democratic District against a powerful incumbent in Larry Clark. What many do not know is that we ran this race with under $10,000 while my opponent Larry Clark spent well over $150,000.
Why would someone seeking a job that pays less than $30,000 a year for 2 years spend 5 times that much to gain a part time legislator job? For myself this is just one more example of why we need change in Frankfort starting with those career politicians like Larry Clark.
We offered up fresh ideas in 2010 and will continue to show you why we are the best suited for this job. Many thanks go out to so many people including those in labor like the Teamsters without whom we could not have gotten so far in a first time race.
As we have already seen in a short time during this 2011 session it is business as usual in Frankfort with Larry Clark leading the way.
I will lead us in a new and better direction in 2012. A direction that will be inclusive to all. To do so will require much needed support this time as well. Being outspent by over 15-1 by Clark during the 2010 election was the biggest reason we lost. We simply could not afford to spend what was necessary to get our message out.
We must work together to avoid this again in 2012. Please consider making a donation of whatever you can afford today. Your gift of as little as $5 goes a long way to insuring a better tomorrow.
